Who can join

Back to main page

Obviously you need a personal webpage or you will have nothing to list.

While a career in a science-related field is not necessary, your page should show some commitment or passion for science. Anything from the occasional star-gazing to multiple PhD's.

By 'science' I mean anything within the fields of biology, chemistry, physics or earth science.

No pseudo-science. While SETI is acceptable, chasing UFOs isn't. I'm looking for people interested in areas such as biology, chemistry, earth science and physics NOT healing with magnets, catching ghosts, spoon bending or clairvoyance.

As a scientist I'm detail orientated. I like things orderly. So please have the link back correctly installed on your page before you apply (see the codes section).

Who can't join?

No porn or adult-themed pages. I'm fine with swearing and the occasional 'adult situation' but graphic pictures and pages about sex aren't eligible.

Non-commercial pages only. Generally if you make money from your webpage you won't be accepted. Blatant begging such as "buy from my wishlist" will also be rejected. I can handle a discreet paypal button but that's about it.

No sTiCkyCaPs, embedded sound files or masses of animations and marquees. If it gives me a headache, I will reject it. And please make sure the majority of your content is legible, I won't add sites I can't read.

No pop-ups or excessive advertising. Free hosts such as Geocities or Blogspot are fine as long as no extra advertising has been added.

I hate copyright and bandwidth thieves. Any members found involved in this will be deleted. If you're going to use work you did not create, always always ask first.

I know this seems like a lot of "don'ts" but in my experience the majority of personal webpages already comply with these rules. So go ahead and apply.

I reserve the right to accept or reject whoever I choose and to change the membership criteria at any time. Member links will be checked periodically and broken links removed.
